CoachRun Terms of Service

STATUS: WORKING DRAFT. NOT YET IN FORCE. This is a placeholder scaffold, not final legal terms, and has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Every value marked [to be confirmed] must be settled before publication.

Effective date: [to be confirmed] Last updated: [to be confirmed] Version: Draft 0.2

1. Who these terms are between (parties)

These terms are an agreement between you, the athlete being coached ("you"), and [Declan Doherty], trading as CoachRun ("CoachRun", "I", "me"), a sole trader based in [to be confirmed]. By starting coaching or using the athlete portal, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. What CoachRun is (service description)

CoachRun is a remote endurance coaching service provided by one named, qualified coach. You receive a training week built around your goal race, your training history and what you actually ran, delivered by email notification and readable in your athlete portal.

Plans are drafted with software support and reviewed and approved by a qualified coach before they are sent. No training week reaches you automatically: a human reads it, changes what needs changing, and approves it. No decision affecting you is made solely by automated means.

This is a coaching service. It is not a licence to use software, and there is no facility for other coaches to sign up and coach their own athletes.

3. Your account and eligibility

  • You must be 18 or over to buy coaching. [Coaching for under-18s to be confirmed.]
  • Your account is created for you when coaching starts; you keep your login credentials secure and are responsible for activity under your account.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give about your running. The plan you receive is only as good as what you report.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Share your account or your plans in a way that lets someone else be coached in your name.
  • Attempt to access another athlete's account, plans, or data.
  • Reverse-engineer, disrupt, overload, or probe the service or its security controls.
  • Upload unlawful content, or use the service to break any law that applies to you.
  • Resell or redistribute the coaching or the plans you receive.

5. Your data and your responsibilities

CoachRun processes personal data about you, including special-category health data where you choose to provide it (for example an injury you report). How that is handled is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

  • Health information is collected only inside the coaching relationship and only with your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • You are responsible for telling the coach about anything that affects your ability to train safely. Coaching decisions are only as safe as the information they are based on.
  • Connecting Strava is optional, and you can disconnect it at any time.
  • [to be confirmed]

6. Plans, safety and professional judgment

Coaching is advice, not a guarantee. Training carries an inherent risk of injury.

  • You are responsible for your own body. You decide whether to run a prescribed session, and you should stop if something hurts.
  • CoachRun does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or rehabilitation programmes. Consult a doctor or physiotherapist for anything medical, and before starting training if you have a condition that might make running unsafe.
  • No claim is made or implied about the times you will run or the results you will achieve.
  • [to be confirmed]

7. Fees and billing

  • Coaching is charged at £20 per athlete per month.
  • No minimum term. You can cancel at any time.
  • [payment provider, billing date and refund terms to be confirmed]

8. Availability and changes to the service

I aim to keep the service available and reliable, but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Features may change, be added, or be removed. These terms may be updated from time to time; when a material change is made the "Last updated" date will change and [to be confirmed].

[Notice period for ending coaching to be confirmed.]
